The Museum of Fine Arts is housed in a handsome Palladian-style villa, located in downtown St. Petersburg's most beautiful waterfront park. Founded in 1965 by a group of civic-minded art lovers, the MFA is the only place on Florida's west coast where you can discover 4,500 years of civilization - both East and West - under one roof. This collection has more than 4,000 objects extending from antiquity to the present day and includes works by such major French artist as Fragonard, Vigée-Lebrun, Corot, Cézanne, Monet, Berthe Morisot, Gaugin, Renoir, and Rodin. |
