After decades of incredible growth – in artwork and visitors – the Museum of Fine Arts has embarked on an exciting expansion project. The Museum will add a new two-story building which will sit adjacent to the original building on Beach Drive, facing Straub Park to the north. 

We searched nationally to find an architect that would respect the site as well as the beauty and integrity of our signature building, and we are pleased to have Yann Weymouth, Senior Vice President of Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) as our architect.  HOK has designed a new wing that will enhance our current Palladian-style building, while giving us the space to grow.

The new addition will house special exhibition galleries, Classroom, Interactive Education Gallery, Library, a new Museum Shop, and café.

Your gift will help the Museum of Fine Arts’ expansion project by providing funds for:

• Installation of the new galleries
• Innovative educational offerings for our new interactive education gallery
• Updated technology
• New physical plant and security systems
• Landscaping for the new wing
