Experience the artistry of local brewers in a Pro-Am competition
inspired by the Museum’s collection.
The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, in partnership with Green Bench Brewing are proud to present a three day event that celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of homebrewing.
Join author and Portland’s crafting marvel, Shawn Gascoyne-Bowman as she shows us “what to do with the 99 bottles of beer on the wall.” Participate in creating wearable jewelry and a unique bird house out of re-purposed cans, bottle caps and labels. Bowman will be available for a book-signing following the demonstrations.
Beer tastings and crafting supplies provided by Cigar City Brewing and Brew Bus Tampa Bay. Cash bar. Complimentary delectable bites provided by CD Roma Restaurant. The demonstration is FREE with Museum admission which is $5 after 5p.m. on Thursdays. Space is limited for the crafting demonstration. Ticketed guests will be given preference. You can reserve your free ticket for the demonstration HERE.
Meet up at Green Bench Brewing Co. and taste beers inspired by the Museum of Fine Arts’ 2014 special exhibitions and permanent collection.
Influenced by the Museum’s Asian collection, the brewers at Green Bench Brewing Co. have crafted Double Rice IPA. Brewed with a base of rice and a Japanese hop called Sorachi Ace.
As the Museum bids farewell to its New Mexico and the Arts of Enchantment exhibition, Green Bench Brewing Co. says goodbye with its Agave Green Chili Blonde Ale which is brewed with Lime Peel called Rubia Caliente.
No cover charge for the Release Party. Open to the Public.
Plus! Gerard Walen, author of Florida Breweries, will be available for a book-signing from 7 – 9p.m.
Taste home-brewed recipes and vote for your favorites. This unique experience includes home-brewing demonstration by Avid Brewing and a crafting demonstration by Portland’s Shawn Bowman. Just in time for Father’s Day, Shawn will show us how to take dad’s favorite beer can and turn it into usable fishing lures.
